In the setting of COVID-19, our neurosurgical and neuro-oncology providers continue to accept new patients and are offering video visits. During these visits, our providers are able to evaluate the critical needs of each patient and plan a path forward for their care, be it surgically or medically based.

We continue to perform essential diagnostic exams and surgeries, and to deliver radiation and chemotherapy. While some procedures and diagnostic/staging studies were initially delayed in order to ensure we could care for any and all COVID-19 patients, we are now scheduling most of these procedures.

Access to clinical trials may be important to the health and well-being of some cancer patients, and many of our clinical trials continue to accept new patients with additional precautionary procedures to ensure the safety of both patients and staff.

The health, safety, and well-being of our patients remains our top priority. Accordingly, UCSF has infection prevention practices and protocols in place at all of our facilities. We have also developed dedicated care teams and units to take care of our COVID-19 patients at UCSF Medical Center and at other hospitals within San Francisco.

We continue to perform essential diagnostic exams and surgeries, and to deliver radiation and chemotherapy. While some procedures and diagnostic/staging studies were initially delayed in order to ensure we could care for any and all COVID-19 patients, we are now rescheduling most of these procedures.

For our patients enrolled in clinical trials, access to investigational therapies will continue without change, with additional precautionary procedures to ensure the safety of both patients and staff. Because we know that access to clinical trials may be important to the health and well-being of some cancer patients, many of our clinical trials continue to accept new patients.
