UCSF Neuro-Oncology Caregiver Retreat
This is an annual event for caregivers of brain tumor patients. The retreat is designed as a restorative day where caregivers can connect and learn practical information to manage the challenges that can arise from supporting their loved ones.
Milton Marks Neuro-Oncology Family Camp
Since 2014, the Milton Marks Neuro Oncology Family Camp has hosted dozens of families affected by a parent’s brain cancer, providing them with a weekend of much needed respite.The event is planned in conjunction with, and receives some funding support from, the UCSF Neuro-Oncology Gordon Murray Caregiver Program, for families with young children.
Monthly Support Group
This emotional support group is facilitated by our neuro-oncology social worker, and is open to caregivers of UCSF neuro-oncology patients.
Sustainable Caregiving Series
The UCSF Neuro-Oncology Gordon Murray Caregiver Program in partnership with the UCSF MERI Center for Education in Palliative Care offers this free eight-week online course for the care partners of people with primary brain tumors. Facilitated by Judy Long, a palliative care chaplain and educator at UCSF, the sessions are designed to teach participants evidence-based skills to help make their caregiving sustainable. The next series will be held on Wednesdays, September 16 to November 4, 2026.

Caregiver Social
November is National Caregiver Month, and we celebrate caregivers at our annual caregiver social. This is a chance to relax, enjoy appetizers and beverages, and connect with fellow caregivers and our staff in a warm, supportive space. The event is held the first Friday of November. This year's caregiver social is on Friday, November 6, 2026.
