Melissa Brie, PsyD
Specialties: Neurocognitive rehabilitation, neuropsychological assessment
Dr. Brie specializes in the neurocognitive rehabilitation of adults with brain tumors, including those that have completed active treatment. She provides neuropsychological assessments to generate a baseline for each patient. Individual treatment plans are then developed in accordance with patients' goals for maximizing quality of life. These may include addressing return to work issues, family dynamics, and more.
Dr. Brie’s current research includes investigation of cognition in adults with lower grade gliomas during the natural recovery process and pre/post cognitive rehabilitation. Her work seeks to understand factors that improve the cognitive and emotional function of adults with brain tumors and their caregivers and develop evidenced strategies for reducing the impact of cognitive issues. Additional interests include chronic disease model management of brain tumor, influences of brain health such as nutrition and exercise, health psychology interventions, integrative health, interdisciplinary care, and equitable health care.
