Dr. Brie specializes in the neurocognitive rehabilitation of adults with brain tumors, including those that have completed active treatment. She provides neuropsychological assessments to tailor treatment plans in accordance with patients' goals for maximizing quality of life. These may include addressing return to work issues, family dynamics, and more. She also provides psychotherapy to aid in coping with a brain tumor diagnosis and adjustment to life after treatment.
Dr. Brie’s current research includes investigation of cognition in adults with lower grade gliomas during the natural recovery process and pre/post cognitive rehabilitation. Her work seeks to understand factors that improve the cognitive and emotional function of adults with brain tumors and their caregivers and develop evidenced strategies for reducing the impact of cognitive issues. Additional interests include improving access to specialized care such as cognitive rehabilitation, integrative approaches to brain health such as nutrition and exercise, health psychology interventions, interdisciplinary care, and equitable health care.
