Michael Prados, MD
Research Interests: Clinical trials for pediatric brain tumors, personalized medicine
Dr. Prados has over 30 years' experience at UCSF in treating both adults and children who have brain tumors. He is co-Project Leader of the Pacific Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Consortium, which is focused on trials of personalized medicine for children with brain tumors.
Dr. Prados has been a principal investigator, co-investigator, or collaborating investigator in over 40 research protocols from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), UCSF, and Industry studies over the last 30 years, has published over 350 peer-reviewed articles and has been continuously funded by the NIH since 1990. He is currently Professor Emeritus and holds the Charles B. Wilson Endowed Chair of Neurosurgery. In 2014 he was awarded the Victor Levin Award for lifetime clinical research excellence from the Society of Neuro-Oncology.
