Managing Seizures: Supporting a Person

UCSF nurse navigator Mary Lovely, RN, PhD, outlines what you should do when someone is having a seizure with specific recommendations depending on whether the person is having a focal seizure or a generalized seizure. A seizure is an emergency in the event that the episode is the individual's first time, lasts longer than five minutes, causes the person injury. She also advises to call 911 if focal seizures repeat themselves and become generalized.
