UCSF Neuro-Oncology Caregiver Retreat
The UCSF Neuro-Oncology Caregiver Retreat is an annual event, for caregivers of brain tumor patients.
The retreat is designed as a restorative day where caregivers can connect and learn practical information to manage the challenges that can arise from supporting their loved ones in a warm and nurturing environment. Each year, the day-long event includes informational and emotional support sessions, as well as self-care activities like chair massages.
2026 Caregiver Retreat
Our annual caregiver retreat is a restorative day where current caregivers of brain tumor patients can connect and learn practical information to manage the challenges that can arise from supporting their loved ones, in a warm and nurturing environment.
This year's keynote speaker was Michelle Mathai, a Certified Professional Coach and former brain tumor caregiver. She shared her experience caring for her brother with oligodendroglioma for nearly 20 years. Through story, she offers compassionate insight and practical guidance for anyone navigating the ever-changing landscape of brain tumor caregiving with resilience, grace, and hope.
