UCSF experts at the American Brain Tumor Association National Conference
Every year, the American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA) brings together patients, caregivers, and survivors to learn about latest advances in brain tumor research, treatment, and care. The event is the largest patient-centered conference, with thousands of people attending.
This year, UC San Francisco neuro-oncologist Nancy Ann Oberheim Bush, MD, PhD, is co-chairing the virtual conference alongside Northwestern Medicine's Vinai Gondi, MD. Oberheim Bush will speak in a session about systemic therapies to treat meningioma and participate in the mock tumor board panel.
Three other UCSF experts will also be presenting at the two-day conference:
- Neurosurgeon Shawn Hervey-Jumper, MD, will discuss recent advances in awake brain mapping.
- Radiation oncologist David Raleigh, MD, PhD, will lead a breakout session for people with meningioma.
- Neuroradiologist Soonmee Cha, MD, will give a talk explaining how neuroimaging works.
