This summer, the UCSF Brain Tumor Center launched a newly renovated support program for family caregivers of patients with brain tumors. 

Mary Destri joins the UCSF Neuro-Oncology team as the programming liaison to extend Neuro-Oncology supportive care services and resources to our patients and families in the North Bay.

On Friday, February 8, the UCSF Neuro-Oncology Gordon Murray Caregiver Program met to recognize the program’s major accomplishments of the past year, and discuss plans for the future. 

On Friday, November 2, the UCSF Neuro-Oncology Gordon Murray Caregiver Program celebrated its five-year anniversary, recognizing the enormous strides this program has made so far.

On Saturday, May 19, over 30 caregivers of UCSF patients with brain tumors gathered for a day dedicated to their own well-being. “The best way for us as doctors to take care of our patients is to take care of our caregivers as well,” said neuro-oncologist Jennie Taylor, MD.

For much of the year, Abigail Levinson Marks is a clinical psychologist in private practice and a mother of three lively boys. But every Fall, she becomes camp counselor, inspiration, and guide to more than a dozen families navigating the same experience hers has.
